Neddie was our first Havanese. We fell in love with this breed. Neddie is a very loving little lady. She loves to please you and also has a few funny things of her own to add as you will see in some of my pictures. Everyone that visits us always wants to take Neddie home. Chloe is 8 months old in this picture. She is very smart and loving. A very fun loving pup too. She is very eager to please and learns fast. She housebroke in record time. Only one accident and she got it.

Neddie and Bengy are just hanging out with me in the kitchen. Bengy has an amazing pedigree. He is the most happy little guy. He makes me laugh out loud several times a day. If he was a human he'd be the guy who always has a smile on his face. He loves to learn any new trick I would like to teach him that day. He is the dad of Neddie's pups. | Havanese are a great toy breed. It is sturdy and playful. It's not known to be a yappy dog like so many of the small breeds. The Havanese are kid friendly. Even with younger children if taught to handle them correctly can be very patient. The Havanese love their family and will go anywhere you'd like them to. I carried Chloe around for months in a shoulder bag. She got use to going everywhere with us. They have long silky hair that does need brushed a couple of times a week. You can also do a puppy cut if you like that look. Havanese are easily housetrained and live to learn any tricks you might want to teach them. I sometimes actually see mine smile when mom or dad gets in the trick teaching mood. After they learn a trick they are so proud. They come in various colors. I love them all. Havanese require moderate exercise but will love to go for walks or hikes with you. We take our Havanese on hikes at our metro parks. Havanese are a very friendly breed and love being around you and others. They get along well with other pets. They normal range in weigh from 8 to 16 pounds. Our Neddie weighs 9 pounds and Bengy weighs 12. Our Havanese love to travel and do great in the car. Neddie made a trip to NC when she was 4 months old and did great. They are a sensitive breed. The Havanese love positive reinforcement when learning. They may get their feelings hurt if you yell at them. We teach our Havanese commands and that's how they are corrected. They are taught off, quiet, down, place and come. They learn very quickly because they are a very intelligent breed. The dog pictured above is CH Los Perritos Wee Pantaloons. He is in the puppies pedigree. He was the number 1 Havanese in the country in 2001 and 2002. |
